Easy Bang Bang Broccoli (Better Than Takeaway)
Ingredients
Bang Bang Sauce
- 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 4 tbsp Sriracha
- 1 tbsp Honey
Bang Bang Batter
- 100g Plain flour
- 65g Cornflour
- 250ml Whole milk
- 2 tsp Apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp Sriracha
- 1 tsp Salt
Ingredients
- 500ml Vegetable oil
- 250g Panko bread crumbs
- 1 Broccoli head (broken into florets)
- Chili flakes (to your liking)
- Sesame seeds (to your liking)
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Meanwhile, make the bang bang sauce by adding the mayonnaise, sriracha and honey in a bowl and mixing until combined. Set aside.
- Add the plain flour, cornflour, milk, apple cider vinegar, sriracha and salt to a mixing bowl and whisk until well combined to form a batter. Set aside. Put the panko breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
- Coat each piece of broccoli in the batter, then shake off the excess batter. Dip into the panko breadcrumbs and ensure the broccoli is evenly coated. Set aside on a plate until all the broccoli is battered and coated in breadcrumbs.
- Next, fry the broccoli in small batches (around 5 pieces at a time) for a couple of minutes, until they are crispy and golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on kitchen paper to remove any extra oil. Toss in the bang bang sauce until evenly covered, and then serve in a bowl and top with chili flakes and sesame seeds to your liking.
