Easy Halloumi and Houmous Flatbread for Any Occasion
Halloumi and houmous flatbread with fresh salad, peppers and red onion.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 225g Halloumi (cut into strips)
- 2 Flatbreads
- 8 tbsp Houmous (shop-bought or follow the link in the instructions)
- Handful fresh salad leaves
- 1/2 Red pepper (sliced)
- 1/2 Red onion (sliced)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium. Heat the oil in a frying pan to medium and add the halloumi slices. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and place on kitchen paper.
- Meanwhile, sprinkle the flatbreads with a little water and warm under the grill for 1-2 minutes each side and add to the serving plates. Top with houmous (I used red pepper houmous) but you can follow my hummus recipe if you would like to make your own classic houmous from scratch.
- Add the salad leaves, pepper and red onion. Then top with the halloumi and enjoy. Drizzle over your favourite dressing if you like.
