How to Make the Best Homemade Crispy Chicken Burger
Crispy chicken burger with lettuce, mayo, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
Crispy Chicken
- 2 Chicken breasts
- 150g Cornflour
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1/2 tbsp Chilli powder
- 1/2 tbsp Garlic granules
- 1/2 tbsp Onion granules
- 1 Large egg (beaten)
- 150g Panko breadcrumbs
Ingredients
- 2 Burger buns
- 100g Lettuce (shredded)
- 50g Pickled jalapenos or gherkins (cut into small dices)
- 300g Mayonnaise
- 100g Grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 200℃. Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of grease-proof paper. Use a rolling pin to flatten the chicken breasts and make them evenly sized. Preheat grill to medium-high.
- Next, add the cornflour, paprika, chilli powder, garlic granules, and onion granules to a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix until well combined. Add the egg to a separate bowl and the panko breadcrumbs to another.
- Add the chicken breasts to the cornflour mixture until well coated. Then, dip them in the egg until fully covered and shake to remove any excess. Next, add the chicken to the panko breadcrumbs and toss until fully coated. Cook in the air fryer for 15-18 minutes (turning halfway through) until golden, crispy and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, toast the burger buns if you like them crispy. Mix the lettuce, pickled jalapenos/gherkins and mayonnaise in a bowl until well combined. Add the lettuce mayo to the bottom of each burger bun. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and place it on top of the lettuce mayo. Add the grated cheese and grill for 1-3 minutes until melted. Add the burger lid, serve and enjoy.
