How to Make Twix Cupcakes: The Ultimate Dessert
Ingredients
Cupcake Ingredients
- 150g Unsalted butter (softened)
- 150g Light brown sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 125g Self-raising flour
- 25g Cocoa powder
Caramel Buttercream
- 125g Unsalted butter (softened)
- 300g Icing sugar
- 75g Caramel sauce
- 12 Twix bar fingers (cut in half)
Instructions
- Heat the oven to gas mark 4/180℃/350℉ and fill a cupcake tray with 12 cases.
- Next, add the butter and light brown sugar to a mixing bowl and whisk until light and fluffy. Then, add the eggs, self-raising flour and cocoa powder and mix until well combined.
- Divide the cupcake batter evenly between the 12 cases using a spoon. Bake in the oven for 20-23 minutes until a skewer comes out clean when you pierce them. Remove from the oven and allow to cool fully on a wire rack before adding the toppings.
- Meanwhile, make the caramel buttercream topping in a separate mixing bowl. Add the butter and whisk for a couple of minutes until smooth. Slowly add in the icing sugar and mix until smooth and fluffy. Next, add the caramel and mix for another couple of minutes.
- Pipe the buttercream on top of the cooled cupcakes and top with the Twix pieces and enjoy.
