One of the best ways to motivate myself when I’m feeling lazy, unmotivated, or deflated about my life and procrastinating on my goals is to think about how my life would look if I didn’t pursue my dreams. In doing so, you can envision how life without your dreams will feel and how disappointed you will be in yourself.
I sit and envision how I would feel if I stayed stuck in the same place I am now and never reached my full potential in life. Furthermore, I think of the regret, disappointment, and the feeling that I wasted my one shot at life. Moreover, I think of how much I would feel that I failed myself and my talents if I didn’t reach my big goals or dreams. It makes me feel sad, angry, and disappointed with myself. I never want to wake up when I’m old saying “I wish I’d done that when I had the chance”.
Life is too short and it doesn’t matter what stage of life you are in now, what’s happened in your past, how hard it will be to get there, how long it will take you etc, you need to pursue your dreams or you will regret it later on in life. Remember, it’s never too late to start over and change the course of your life. You can create the life you’ve always envisioned for yourself and it’s all in your control.
Let the feelings of disappointment that you would have in yourself if you don’t pursue your dreams, fuel you to make positive changes and take action towards your goals today.
How to Get the Life You Want
Stop making excuses and find the time to focus on yourself and what you truly want from this life. Don’t give up until you get there. Imagine how grateful, proud, confident, happy, and motivated you will feel when you start reaching your goals one by one.

Imagine Life Without Your Dreams
Let the fear of never reaching your goals or true happiness be your motivation. Make a game plan of what you truly want from your life. Create actionable steps that you can start doing daily to get you closer to pursuing your dreams.
Envision your life and how you would feel if you never started that business you’ve always wanted, wrote that novel, or changed your career to what you’re passionate about. How would you feel if you never went backpacking around Europe, and felt comfortable in yourself and your own skin? Imagine never being married or having kids, buying your dream house, going on adventures, or trying new things.
Think about how disappointed and mad at yourself you would feel if you never pursued any of these dreams. Now, imagine if you woke up one day and it was too late. None of us know how much time we have left in life and things can change in the blink of an eye. Therefore, you need to work on your dreams now. After all, your future self will thank you.
“Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the ones you did.”– H. Jackson Brown Jr
