When it seems like things are falling apart in your life and that nothing is going to plan, it’s easy to think that the universe, everyone, and everything are against you. However, you can learn to see the lessons in everything that happens to you and change your perspective.
If you lose your job, your partner, friendships, etc, it may seem like the end of the world at that time. However, you need to realise that they weren’t meant for you. Therefore, you are making way and room in your life to receive what is meant for you.
Remember, everything always has a way of working out. What you receive in the future will be better and in alignment with what you truly deserve. You’ll look back and feel grateful that you didn’t get what you wanted then because it led you to where you’re meant to be now. Therefore, when things seem as though they’re going wrong in your life, you need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
Ask Yourself…
- Was I really happy in that situation?
- Or was I just settling?
- Was I just staying in my comfort zone?
- What have I always wanted to do that I haven’t pursued?
- Which new things do I want to experience in life?
- What do I deserve?
- How do I envision my ideal life?
- How do I want to feel? Was this situation/person making me feel those feelings?
- What new experiences can this situation lead me to?
- When did something not go to plan in my life but turned out to be a blessing in disguise?
When you change your mindset to look for the positives in any situation, and to look for lessons and how you can turn any situation into a positive one. Therefore, you will begin to see that everything in your life happens for a reason.
Remember, Lessons are Everywhere
You need things to fall apart sometimes to learn, grow, adapt, and shift into the person you’re meant to become. You can handle anything that life throws your way. Therefore, looking for the lessons and blessings in every situation will stop you from playing the victim and will transform your mindset and outlook on life.
Look back on your life to a time when things went wrong and see why that needed to happen, how it got you to where you are now, how far you’ve come, and how the universe is guiding you toward the person you’ve always wanted to be.
You wouldn’t be who you are today without everything that’s happened to you in the past, both good and bad. Everything happens for a reason, and you are on the right track in your life. You can choose to play the victim or you can change your mindset to look for the lessons in every situation. Search for what it is teaching you and how it’s helping you to grow.
How to Embrace the Lessons
You can always choose to see situations positively. Therefore, when things seem to be falling apart or going wrong in your life, ask yourself…
- What is this situation teaching me?
- Where is it guiding me?
- How can I react to this situation positively?
- What would the best version of myself see in this situation?
- How is this going to help me grow?
- Is this situation opening up other paths or opportunities for me?
- What can I gain from this situation?
- What parts of myself do I need to improve to handle this situation positively and to thrive?
- How can I make the most of this situation?
- What do I need to let go of to step into my full potential?
“Painful as it may be, a significant emotional event can be the catalyst for choosing a direction that serves us more effectively. Look for the learning.”– Louisa May Alcott
Summary
Things don’t always work out how you expected, but they always work out how they’re meant to. Therefore, you need to release some control and trust that everything is going to unfold exactly how it’s meant to. Remember, you don’t always need to know all the answers, and you will realise in time why things happened the way they did.
You can overcome anything you set your mind to. Therefore, it’s time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start looking for the lessons in every situation. Change your mindset, choose to see things in a positive light, let go of your expectations, live in the now, be grateful for what you have, and do the best with what you’ve got.
It’s important to remember that other people have overcome worse things in their lives and come out on top. Therefore, stop using excuses as to why you’re so hard done by and how you can’t get to where you want to be in your life.
You have a choice every day to look for the lessons in every situation and to see everything that happens to you as meant to be. Trust that you’re always on the right path, and you will become the person you’ve always envisioned and have everything you desire.
