When I used to think of meditation, I would envision someone just sitting silently and quieting their minds of everything to reach a state of calmness and tranquility. Many people view meditation as being quite hippy-like and that it doesn’t do anything other than waste time trying to become more “zen” and escape from your stresses.
Traditional meditation is amazing and has so many positive benefits but I would just find myself sitting and being bored after a while and I wouldn’t really be focused. I felt slightly calmer after but I wanted something to have a more powerful impact on me and my life.
Once I discovered guided meditations with hypnotherapy it changed my life. I signed up for a free trial of Mimi Bouchard’s Superhuman app and I tried some of her guided meditations and was blown away.
I cried after a few of her meditations and felt a massive sigh of relief and happiness come over me. My body has goosebumps and everything around me felt different. I’m not alone with this feeling either, I’ve read countless reviews of other women having similar responses.
I now meditate every morning and it’s become a part of my daily routine. As a result, I can’t imagine not meditating every day, and consequently, it has had a massive positive impact on all areas of my life
I am more focused, happy, energised, in control of my thoughts and emotions, motivated and productive, to name just a few of the benefits. I have been making major breakthroughs with my goals and reaching more and more targets that I set myself.
Different Meditations
Hatha yoga combines yoga, breath techniques, and meditations that allow you to quiet your mind, find your centre and realign with yourself and the world around you. You could try signing up for one of these classes or just a meditation class in your local area.
Sometimes, just sitting for even ten minutes in the morning and concentrating solely on your breathing, will help you to unwind and start your day on the right foot.
You can also sit and simply visualise your future life and imagine yourself as if you’re living that reality now. Think of every detail vividly and feel how amazing it feels to be living this life now.
There are also many free meditations available from motivational speakers and leaders in the personal development field. You can use these if you want to feel motivated and inspired to reach your goals. However, I find guided meditations to be the most beneficial for me but you just need to find what works for you, or, do a combination of different styles of meditation.
You can try the guided mediations on Superhuman for free on a one-week trial and there are a wide variety of different meditations which are unique and suitable for everyone. There are writing mediations that have amazing journaling prompts to give you clarity and focus. Walking and running meditations to motivate you on the go. Pilates and stretching meditations to get the best out of your workouts. Plus more classic seated meditations that are transformative and energising.
If you prefer the more classic style of meditation and find it works better for you then Headspace is an amazing platform that you can useas well.
When to Meditate
Whichever style of meditation you choose, there are countless benefits. Taking time for yourself and your mental well-being is essential for living a happy, healthy, positive, and successful life. Meditation can be done at any time of day, it fits into any schedule and you can spend as much or little time as you like on it.
Mediation is very accessible and you can meditate whenever you like. However, I find that first thing in the morning is the best for me, as it gives me a positive mindset for the day and ensures that I have a happy and productive day.
However, evening meditations are also really beneficial as they can help you to reflect on your day. They allow you to unwind, and relax your thoughts to a place of calmness and clarity. This will help you to switch off faster from the world when you’re trying to sleep. It will ensure you have a peaceful sleep without waking up and having a broken night’s sleep.

Summary
Why not give it a go for a week and see how you feel? You have nothing to lose and if you’re open-minded and throw yourself fully into the possibilities, then meditation can be truly life-changing.
Meditation doesn’t have to be the stereotypical sitting in silence, thinking of nothing and shutting out the world, which many people find boring and unfulfilling.
It can give you massive breakthroughs in your thoughts and emotions that lead to big positive changes in your actions, habits, goal-setting, and achievements.
There are different meditations for different areas in your life that you want to work on. For example, body image, weight management, finances, achieving your goals, and letting go of the past. As well as, becoming the best version of yourself, getting motivated, and many more.
Meditation is so powerful and has a positive impact on all areas of your life. Taking a little time each morning for yourself is empowering and boosts your self-confidence and self-worth.
It’s honestly the best thing I’ve ever tried for my self-development journey and I know it will help you to start transforming your life as well.
