I’m sure you’ve heard other people or yourself plenty of times “Oh, I’ll start that on Monday” or “I’ve had a slip up so I might as well wait until next week to start again”. We need to change this mindset of putting things off until… Monday, tomorrow, the beginning of the month, next year, when I’m ready, when the time’s right, when I’ve got my head around it, and so on. To be successful in life you must stop procrastinating today!
Why wait? What are you scared of? Why are you putting it off? Why will waiting until Monday make it any easier or achievable? There’s never a “right time” to start anything new or that scares you, you just need to jump straight in and get started, you’ll regret not starting sooner if anything. It’s time to stop waiting until Monday to start your goals!
If you put something off until Monday then you’re more likely to spend the rest of the previous week and weekend, bingeing, having bad habits, being lazy, and not being proactive because you’re going to be “good” on Monday. This can put you even further back than where you would have been if you hadn’t selected Monday as your start date.
Stop Procrastinating
There is no time like the present to start whatever it is you want to achieve, just start today! There’s no point putting things off until a later date and you’ll only be delaying your future success and potential. Don’t put things off and constantly have the mindset of “another day”, because it’s likely that day will never come. This is a mindset of procrastination and doubt in your current abilities to start achieving your goals now.
The faster you get started on your goals, the quicker you will grow, improve, achieve, and develop your skills and progress. We often put things off because we’re scared of failure or the unknown. Everyone feels like this from time to time. However, you shouldn’t let it stop you from working towards your best self and your best life. You don’t have to be perfect straight away and no one has everything figured out all the time. Everyone makes mistakes but they help you to learn and grow. Therefore, don’t let the fear of failure stand in your way.

Remember
If you fall off track on a diet for instance, why wait to start again on Monday because you’ve had a little slip-up or an off day? This is only going to delay your progress further and encourage you to binge eat more than you usually would. It’s OK to not be perfect and give into a mid-week takeaway. However, why use that as an excuse that you’ve “been bad”, so what’s the point in being good over the weekend? This mindset is dangerous because you’ll feel like a failure. Moreover, you will be rationalising slipping fully back into old habits and you’ll undo all the progress you’ve already made.
Instead, accept that you’ve over-indulged that day. Start the next day with the mindset that it’s OK you had a slip-up, you’re only human and you’ll start afresh again today. The faster you bounce back and get back on track, the quicker you will progress. Furthermore, the less damage you’ll do to your body, your motivation, and your mindset.
Say you want to set up your own blog or online business, why wait until Monday? Why not start now? What are you waiting for? You may make excuses for yourself and your procrastination like, “I don’t know how to build a website”. “I need to get more followers online before I start”. “What if I’m no good?” etc. But the thing is, everyone has these thoughts or feelings when they start something new and unknown. However, you just have to push through them and try.
“Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.”– Robert T. Kiyosaki
Summary
Start with the first smallest task you can do on that goal. For example, find a course online for setting up your blog or website. Buy a book that explains business, or watch a tutorial on how to build a website. The more small tasks you do daily towards your goal the more progress you will make. You will grow and build your dreams without setting the barre too high and scaring yourself.
Each day you wait is a day of your best life and your future self not lived. Remember, time is precious, none of us know how much time we have left in the world. Therefore, don’t waste your life being afraid and leaving things until later. Today is the perfect time to start working on your goals. Don’t wait until you’re ready because there’s never a perfect future time to start.
You can be who you want to be today and work towards having what you want. Remember, you just have to believe in yourself and try. You’ll look back in a few months and wonder why you were so scared to take the leap and wish that you had started sooner.
