boost your productivity

To boost your productivity you need to focus on the things you keep putting off in your life. We’ve all been there… leaving the car unwashed for months, not replacing a lightbulb, or leaving the dry cleaning sitting in the corner of the room. Not booking a dentist appointment, not painting the fence… the list can be endless! These seemingly important but not-so-important jobs tend to get left and left for months but they constantly play on your mind and make you feel bad every time you think or look at them unfinished or not done.

It might not seem like that big of a deal. However, over time these little tasks build up and not only bug you but stress you out and make you feel lethargic. Quite often the idea of tackling these tasks is a lot more daunting than the task itself. However, the impact of achieving something off your niggling to-do list that’s been annoying you for a while is massive.

If you finally do a little task that’s been bugging you it will…

Boost Your Productivity to Give You a Sense of Achievement

There’s nothing better than that feeling of relief once you’ve done something that you’ve been putting off for a while. It will instantly boost your mood and make you feel good about yourself.

Even the simplest of tasks, like getting the battery in your watch fixed or pumping up your tyre that’s been deflating for weeks, will help you feel productive and motivated.

Completing tasks that have been stressing you out will create a sense of relief and a weight off your shoulders and mind. Seeing the thing that’s been bugging you fixed or done is a weight off your shoulders and mind. This makes you feel more positive and in control of things.

Help to Clear Your Mind

You may not notice the odd job that needs doing constantly or even daily but subconsciously it’s always there niggling away at your brain. It makes you feel lazy and unmotivated.

Constantly having things on your mind, that you need to do but never quite get around to, clutters your brain. Therefore, it may be hard for your mind to switch off from all the things you need to do.

Finishing even a small task that’s been bugging you will help you to feel less stressed. It’s one less thing on your list that you need to do. This frees up your mind to think of more positive or important things. It will boost your productivity and help you to continue to make progress on your goals.

Help to Boost Your Productivity

Ticking something little off your annoying to-do list is a great way to help increase your productivity. More often than not, these little bug-bear tasks are done quite easily and quickly. Changing the bed sheets, taking your old clothes to a charity shop, etc will give you a good feeling once you’ve got them out of the way.

Typically, you’ll want this feeling to grow and keep going. So, you’ll be more likely to tackle other small tasks off your to-do list that you’ve been putting off.

It can also help you to be productive in other more important areas of your life. Once you’ve tidied the house or organised your work desk, for example, you’ll have a tidier environment and clearer mindset to work on the more important things you need to get done.

Help You to be More Focused

Achieving a small task that’s been bugging you will free up time that you would normally be sitting around procrastinating or stressing so that you have a clearer mind to tackle more things.

It will help to improve your concentration because instead of having all these annoying tasks that need doing, bugging your brain constantly, it will be free to focus on other more important things you need to achieve.

You’ll be less distracted by your little tasks because your mind will be free from thinking about them. Therefore, you’ll feel satisfied knowing that you can concentrate fully on more important tasks.

Summary

Start ticking things off your little task list and you’ll see a positive impact on your mindset and your surroundings. I always concentrate and work harder if I know everything’s in order and I’ve got the odd jobs that I need to do that day or week out of the way.

It frees up my mind to be more productive and focused on important deadlines I’ve set for myself. Furthermore, it boosts my mood knowing that I’ve finally got around to doing things I’ve needed to do for ages.
